My best friend Paul Tomlinson, died on the 14th of December 1999, aged 27.
He left behind his Mother Bridgett and his Brother Barry.
He also leaves behind many friends, and loved ones, who like myself,
not only have many fond memories of him and humorous stories,
But now, we also have an empty place in our lives, that cannot be regained.
I met Paul in 1983 at Secondary School
From there we became best friends, and spent many of our
teenage and adult years together.
He had the ability to make me smile
When all I wanted to do was curl up and cry.
There are many words I could use, to describe Paul.
Kind, Considerate, Loyal and Loving are but a few.
But none do justice to the way he was as a person.
He was simply the best friend I could possibly have.
The recent news of his death came as a great shock to me.
Fate it seems, prevented me from knowing about Paul's Death until recently,
and has deprived me the ability to say goodbye to him, in a way I would have hoped.
Instead, I will say goodbye to Paul the only way I can.
Paul
You were my Best friend for years
and you will always hold that place in my heart.
During our time as friends, we have laughed together
and shed tears together.
I dont have a single memory of my teenage years
that don't have you in them.
You will be missed always.
Goodbye, my friend.
